Its great the weathers been lovely so far and I hope everyone can get as much of the wonderful sun’s rays as possible. Now my guess is that you may have done a double take on what I just said… as the general consensus that most health professionals advocate is using sunblocks when out in the sun. I read it again recently in the paper and this message is repeated countless times. I disagree. Before you start slip slap slopping the suncream, lotions and potions with sun protection factor (SPF). I would hold back…..because we need the wonderful sunshine on our skins, especially for the manufacture of Vitamin D.  Which most people I meet are deficient in. I’m not advocating sitting in the burning sun for hours, however even 30 minutes and even up to an hour of sunshine (for those that are not too aggravated by the heat) without any sunblock is not going to be too damaging. There are few cases where some individuals may not tolerate sunlight for whatever reason, for e.g those on certain medications or herbs where they are more sensitive to light.  I am in the process of writing an article on this sunshine vitamin and its wonderful benefits. So in the meantime while you waiting….get some free fresh air and sunshine, your body needs it 🙂
